The Canadian Society of Soil Science (CSSS) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization for scientists, engineers, technologists, administrators and students involved in professional soil science.  It is a very good resource for soil information across Canada and professional development.

Soil Science Society of America
The Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) is also a non-profit professional society that publishes a number of journals, provides access to information on soils in the U.S. and is involved in career development.

Ecological Society of America
The Ecological Society of America (ESA) was founded for the purpose of unifying the science of ecology, stimulating research, encouraging communication, and promoting the application of ecological principles to environmental problems.


Forest Ecology and Management
Publishes scientific articles that link forest ecology with forest management, and that apply biological and ecological knowledge to the management and conservation of man-made and natural forests.

Canadian Journal of Forest Research
Features articles on all aspects of forest science, including biometrics, disturbance ecology, fire, management, operations, soil, silviculture, contributed by internationally respected scientists.

Applied Soil Ecology
Applied Soil Ecology addresses the role of soil organisms and their interactions in relation to: nutrient cycling and other soil processes, and the impact of human activities. It is and Elsevier journal.
